Process Engineer - Water Treament

Our client

Our client is a global manufacturer of water treatment and filtration equipment, serving municipal and industrial customers across North America. They design and build engineered treatment systems from concept through commissioning, and are growing their engineering team to support an expanding project pipeline.

This role is remote, based anywhere in the US.

We are seeking a Process Engineer to support both the front end and post-award sides of water treatment projects, from assisting quotations and applications engineering through to detailed process design, P&IDs and commissioning support once a project is awarded. You will work closely with Mechanical, Controls, Electrical and Manufacturing Engineering throughout.

Key Responsibilities

• Support quotations and applications engineering on new opportunities, including process sizing, budgetary estimates and technical input into proposals.
• Develop detailed process designs for awarded water treatment projects.
• Prepare and maintain Process & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).
• Perform process calculations, hydraulic analyses and equipment sizing.
• Coordinate closely with Mechanical, Controls, Electrical and Manufacturing Engineering throughout project execution.
• Review vendor documentation and ensure equipment compliance with project requirements.
• Support procurement with technical evaluations and engineering clarifications.
• Resolve technical issues encountered during fabrication, assembly, factory acceptance testing, installation and commissioning.
• Participate in design reviews and engineering change management.

About You

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Environmental, Mechanical or a related engineering discipline.
• Minimum of 3 years of water or wastewater process engineering experience, whether in applications/front end engineering, detailed design, or a mix of both.
• Experience developing detailed engineering documentation, with strong knowledge of water treatment processes and technologies
• Able to interpret engineering specifications and technical drawings, with strong organizational and project coordination skills.
• Experience designing municipal or industrial water treatment facilities is a plus.
• AutoCAD Plant 3D experience, familiarity with PLC-controlled process systems, and SAP experience are all a plus.
• PE license or EIT certification is a plus.
• Based in the US, open to occasional travel to manufacturing facilities, project sites and customer locations.
