Process Engineer(water treatment)

About the role

We are a leading environmental water treatment company seeking a technically proficient and commercially astute Sales Support to join our expanding team in Malaysia. This role is a critical bridge between our technical engineering capabilities and our sales objectives. You will enable the sales team to close deals by providing end-to-end technical documentation and solution design.

Key responsibilities

• Review client RFQs, tender documents, and site data to determine the appropriate water/wastewater treatment methodologies (e.g., RO, UF, MBR, EDI, clarification, disinfection, biological treatment)
• Prepare comprehensive technical proposals, including Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), mass balance calculations, equipment selection, and system descriptions
• Work closely with the procurement team to generate accurate Bill of Quantities (BOQ) and costings for competitive pricing
• Prepare compliance matrices, technical deviation lists, and operation & maintenance (O&M) manuals tailored to specific project requirements
• Conduct product presentations and process demonstrations to consultants, end-users (e.g., Palm Oil Mills, Power Plants, Semiconductor factories), and government bodies
• Accompany the Sales Manager to client sites to conduct technical surveys and collect water quality data required for system sizing
• Facilitate a smooth handover of technical documents and project scope to the Project Execution/Engineering team upon order confirmation
• Provide technical clarification during the installation and commissioning phases as needed to ensure client satisfaction

About you

• Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Mechanical Engineering (with water focus), or equivalent
• Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience in a technical sales support, process design, or applications engineering role specifically within the water/wastewater treatment industry
• Proven track record of writing successful technical proposals for industrial or municipal projects
• Deep understanding of membrane technologies (UF/RO), ion exchange, chemical dosing, and biological treatment processes
• Proficiency with AutoCAD (for basic P&ID reading), MS Office Suite (Excel for calculations, PowerPoint for presentations), and preferably simulation tools
• Familiarity with Malaysian Department of Environment (DOE) regulations and Suruhanjaya Perkhidmatan Air Negara (SPAN) guidelines is a strong advantage
• Fluent in English (written and spoken) is mandatory; proficiency in Bahasa Malaysia is highly preferred
• Strong analytical thinking with the ability to simplify complex technical data for non-technical clients
• Ability to work under tight tender deadlines
