Process Equipment Reliability Mechanic

Location: Chagrin Falls, OH

Schedule: First shift (6:00 AM–2:30 PM), Monday–Friday; occasional overtime and weekend work as needed

A day in the role

You arrive at 6:00 AM, review the preventive maintenance queue, and prioritize work orders for critical production assets used to make industrial roofing urethane, asphalt products, and adhesive tape. Before the first batch launches, you’re inspecting pumps and mixers, checking utilities, and verifying safeguards. Mid-morning, you’re collaborating with engineers on a new equipment installation—assisting with commissioning, validating controls, and documenting results. The afternoon may find you troubleshooting a PLC/HMI alarm on a line, repairing a leaky utility line, or coaching teammates on basic maintenance practices. Throughout the day, you capture accurate records for repairs, purchases, audits, and compliance.

What you’ll take on

  • Champion safety by following all safety rules, work instructions, and high‑hazard task procedures
  • Build and sustain the plant’s preventive maintenance program to keep assets safe, stable, and reliable
  • Own documentation for maintenance activities, parts purchases, audits, and regulatory compliance
  • Execute electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and site utilities work
  • Service and troubleshoot production equipment that handles chemicals and adhesives
  • Diagnose root causes and recommend permanent corrective actions
  • Install and help commission new machinery and upgrades
  • Share knowledge—train teammates in foundational maintenance skills

This role is part of the Maintenance Team and reports to the Production Manager. You’ll join during a period of strong growth with opportunities to collaborate across a diverse workforce.

Qualifications

Minimum

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 5+ years of technical training and hands-on maintenance experience
  • Mechanical troubleshooting across pumps, mixers, and general machinery
  • PLC and HMI troubleshooting experience
  • Ability to operate forklifts, lifts, and hoists; comfortable working at heights

Preferred

  • Ability to read P&IDs and technical drawings
  • OSHA 10‑Hour General Industry Training
  • Pipefitting experience
  • Background partnering cross‑functionally with multiple departments

Compensation and benefits

Pay is determined by several factors, including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, and geographic location. The salary for this role is $32 – $36/hour+, based on experience.
