We are looking for a Process Improvement Technician to support process improvement, plant performance monitoring, technical analysis, and continuous improvement activity across our Kaingaroa Processing Plant and Murupara debarker operations.
Reporting to the Process Improvement Engineer, this hands-on technical support role will contribute to initiatives that improve safety, quality, production, efficiency, and value recovery. You will help identify improvement opportunities, analyse plant and production data, support trials and implementation activity, and ensure changes are practical, well documented, and embedded into day-to-day operations.
In this role, you will be involved in:
- Supporting process improvement and optimisation activity across plant operations
- Collecting, analysing, and presenting production, quality, equipment, and process data
- Assisting with technical problem solving, investigations, trials, and testing
- Supporting plant systems, automation, reporting tools, and production databases
- Maintaining accurate records, reports, runbooks, and knowledge-base information
- Contributing to quality, value recovery, safety, and compliance initiatives
This role would suit someone with experience or a qualification in mechatronics, mechanical, electrical, automation, process engineering, industrial technology, or a related field. You will bring practical problem-solving ability, an interest in continuous improvement, and confidence working with data, systems, and people in an operational environment.
Experience with tools such as Power BI, Excel, SCADA reporting, production databases, Ignition SCADA, Rockwell / Allen-Bradley PLCs, Studio 5000, SQL, Python, or similar would be advantageous, although guidance and support will be provided. A full NZ driver’s licence is required, along with the ability to travel between sites.
This is an opportunity to build your technical capability while contributing to safe, efficient, and high-performing plant operations.
