- R&D and Innovation: Contribute to R&D initiatives aligned with inward investment goals and project funding opportunities with external academic and industry partners. Relay learnings from commissioning, site evaluation, and installation processes to improve the workflow.
- Health & Safety: Assist the Engineering Manager by contributing to compliance planning, reviews, and implementation within H&S procedures and according to applicable regulatory requirements.
- Travel: Attend and contribute to project meetings, installations, testing, and commissioning works across South Wales, Hertford, and other UK locations as needed. This position requires that the majority of working time will be spent at the R&D and commercial site in Swansea Bay, Wales.
- Practical Application: Take a leading role in hands-on work, including fitting and supervising the installation or modification of plant equipment.
- Documentation & Reporting: Prepare project proposals, reports, design documentation, and technical presentations to communicate progress, challenges, and outcomes effectively.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Represent Engineering in communications, project meetings, client engagements, and collaborative innovation initiatives.
Candidate Specification:
- B. Sci/B. Eng or greater in Chemical, Industrial, Manufacturing, Pharmaceutical, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering.
- 4–7 years’ professional engineering experience, ideally within chemical manufacturing, process development, plant operations, or energy sectors.
- Ability to own, execute, and report on experimental and technology transfer projects.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to operate flexibly and within cross-functional teams.
- Strong grasp of health and safety principles in industrial chemical/process engineering environments.
