Process Operator - Dryer

ABOUT THE ROLE – Te tūranga mahi

We’re looking for a motivated Process Operator to join our high-performing team at New Image Group in Hamilton.

This is a permanent, full-time opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on work and wants to develop their skills in dairy manufacturing. You’ll be involved in day-to-day production activities, helping to keep our operations running safely, efficiently and to a high standard.

What you’ll be doing – Ngā kawenga matua

• Operate and monitor automated production machinery and equipment
• Monitor production processes to ensure products meet quality and safety requirements
• Perform routine operational checks, troubleshooting and risk assessments
• Accurately complete production documentation and maintain records
• Carry out cleaning, inspection and basic equipment maintenance
• Safely lift and handle items weighing up to 25 kg as part of regular production activities
• Follow quality, health and safety procedures at all times
• Work closely with your shift team to achieve production targets
• Participate in ongoing training and development

What we’re looking for – Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako e hiahiatia ana

To be successful in this role, you’ll need:

• Previous experience as a Process Operator in food, dairy, nutritional, pharmaceutical, FMCG or a similar manufacturing environment, with experience following hygiene, safety and production procedures

• The ability to work the full 4-on, 4-off rotating roster: 2 consecutive day shifts, followed by 2 consecutive night shifts, then 4 days off

• The ability to safely carry out regular physical tasks, including lifting and handling items weighing up to 25 kg

• Good general computer skills and the ability to learn and use production systems

• A sharp eye for detail and a genuine commitment to following procedures and maintaining quality standards in a regulated production environment

• The ability to work effectively as part of a shift team and adapt confidently in a fast-paced environment where priorities can change

• Confident communication skills and a proactive, solutions-focused approach to problem-solving

• Exposure to spray drying, powder processing or similar drying and evaporation technologies is an advantage
