Process Operator - Level 3 | FIFO Copper Processing 14/14 Roster

About the role

We are seeking experienced and safety-focused Level 3 Process Operators to join our team in Western Australia.

This role is primarily focused on the safe and efficient operation of the Solvent Extraction (SX) and Electrowinning (EW) processing plant, while also providing operational support to the Heap Leach circuit as required. Working within a highly skilled operations team, you will be responsible for monitoring and optimising plant performance, maintaining product quality and ensuring the production of LME Grade A equivalent copper cathode.

Reporting to the Processing Supervisor, you will play an important role in maintaining plant reliability, achieving production objectives and contributing to a culture of safety and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

As a Level 3 Process Operator, your responsibilities will include:

• Safely operate and monitor the Solvent Extraction (SX) and Electrowinning (EW) processing circuits.
• Support Heap Leach operations where required, including irrigation inspections and field activities.
• Monitor and control process equipment including mixers, settlers, pumps, tanks, electrolyte systems, reagent dosing systems and process instrumentation.
• Conduct routine plant inspections and identify abnormal operating conditions before they impact production.
• Monitor process parameters including flow rates, tank levels, pressures, temperatures and electrolyte chemistry to optimise plant performance.
• Assist with plant start-ups, shutdowns, isolations, washdowns and operational maintenance activities.
• Carry out routine sampling and support metallurgical test work in accordance with operating procedures.
• Complete housekeeping, inspections and operational checks to maintain high plant standards.
• Record operational data, complete shift reports and communicate plant status during effective shift handovers.
• Operate forklifts and overhead gantry cranes when required to support copper cathode handling and harvesting activities.
• Work closely with maintenance personnel to maximise plant reliability and equipment availability.
• Maintain compliance with all safety, environmental and operational procedures while actively participating in continuous improvement initiatives.

About You

To be successful in this role you will demonstrate:

• Previous experience operating hydrometallurgical or mineral processing plants.
• Sound understanding of SX/EW process operations or similar fixed plant processing circuits.
• Strong commitment to safe work practices and procedural compliance.
• Sound mechanical aptitude with the ability to identify and respond to plant operating issues.
• Ability to prioritise work and operate effectively within a team-based production environment.
• Ability to work a FIFO 14/14 roster including rotating 12-hour day and night shifts.
• High levels of accountability, reliability and personal initiative.

Essential Requirements

• Previous mining or mineral processing experience (Level 3 equivalent).
• Current Australian Driver's Licence.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and drug & alcohol screening.
• Full Australian working rights (no sponsorship available).

Candidates with any of the following will be highly regarded:

• Previous Solvent Extraction (SX) and Electrowinning (EW) operating experience.
• Copper processing experience.
• Experience within hydrometallurgical processing operations.
• Gold, nickel, uranium, rare earth or lithium processing experience.
• Experience operating fixed plant processing facilities.
• HRWL Forklift Licence with practical operating experience.
• RII Overhead Gantry Crane competency.
• Experience operating overhead cranes in an industrial or processing environment.
• Heap Leach operations experience.
• HDPE/poly welding or poly pipeline maintenance experience.

Physical Requirements

This is a physically demanding operational role requiring a high level of fitness. Operators are required to work in hot conditions, climb stairs, perform manual handling tasks, operate plant equipment and remain on their feet throughout 12-hour shifts.
