Process Safety Audit Lead

Job Title: Global PSM Audit Lead

Location: UK or Europe, with travel to northwest England for project meetings and remote coordination of regional audit teams.

Duration: Approximately 4–5 months

Job Description Lead an independent process safety management audit for a global life sciences capital project program. Establish the audit methodology, align assessment criteria and sampling with the client, and direct regional auditors and technical specialists. Assess whether corporate requirements, standards, templates, governance, training and competency controls are technically sound and used effectively on projects. Review evidence quality, maintain consistent finding classification and escalation, and consolidate practical improvement priorities for senior leadership. The assignment includes remote framework review and face-to-face project meetings in northwest England.

Qualifications

• PSM audit leadership: Demonstrated leadership of independent process safety or technical management-system audits, with evidence-based findings and practical recommendations.
• Major capital projects: Hands-on process safety experience across front-end planning, engineering, construction, commissioning, startup and handover; ability to judge requirements appropriate to each project stage.
• CCPS framework assessment: Experience using CCPS Risk Based Process Safety or a comparable structured PSM approach to assess governance, competency and implementation.
• Audit methodology: Ability to establish sampling, interviews, finding classification, escalation and quality review across several regions.
• Communication and localization: Strong technical writing and executive presentation skills; ability to work across local regulatory systems, terminology and cultures.
• Helpful experience: Global pharmaceutical or chemical project experience; functional safety and mechanical integrity interfaces; relevant audit credentials.
