Process Senior Engineer (PV Cell)

Role Description

The Process Engineer is responsible for optimizing, stabilizing, and troubleshooting the core thermal and deposition steps of PV cell manufacturing. This includes high-temperature diffusion (forming the p–n junction) and thin-film deposition for passivation and anti-reflection coatings. The primary focus is maximizing cell conversion efficiency and line yield while reducing chemical and gas consumption.

Key Responsibilities

●     Own, optimize, and troubleshoot diffusion, oxidation, and thin-film deposition processes.

●     Introduce new recipes and process modifications to improve cell conversion efficiency.

●     Collaborate with Equipment Engineers to minimize downtime during preventive maintenance and tool optimization.

●     Utilize Statistical Process Control (SPC) to monitor inline metrics and prevent process drift.

●     Lead root-cause analysis (FMEA, 8D) for yield excursions or defect outbreaks related to coatings or thermal treatments.

Role Requirements

●     Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Physics, or Semiconductor Technology.

●     Experience: 5+ years of hands-on experience in semiconductor or PV cell processing. Deep familiarity with n-type (TOPCon) or p-type (PERC) architectures is highly preferred.

●     Technical Skills:

–     Strong understanding of solid-state physics, thermodynamics, and thin-film mechanics.

–     Experience handling hazardous process gases used in PV cell processing.

–     Mastery of SPC software (e.g., JMP, Minitab).
