What they need

Process Technician

Full-Time | Gisborne | Shift-Based Manufacturing Environment

About WET Gisborne Ltd

WET Gisborne Ltd operates an advanced manufacturing facility producing Optimised Engineered Lumber (OEL™). Our Gisborne plant combines sophisticated automation, robotics and control systems with traditional manufacturing processes.

About the role

We’re looking for an experienced Process Technician to help operate and maintain our fully automated production plant.

This is a hands-on role where you’ll monitor production, respond to equipment faults, complete planned maintenance and help improve plant performance. You’ll also provide additional support with controls-related issues as part of the role.

What you’ll be doing

  • Operating and monitoring automated production equipment
  • Adjusting production settings to meet quality and performance targets
  • Diagnosing faults and responding to production issues
  • Completing preventative maintenance and equipment repairs
  • Reading engineering drawings
  • Fabricating, assembling and installing machine components
  • Supporting machinery commissioning and continuous improvement
  • Completing quality testing and production records
  • Maintaining high health and safety standards

What we’re looking for

You’ll ideally have experience in an industrial, manufacturing, mechanical, electrical or automation environment, along with:

  • Practical plant maintenance and fault-finding skills
  • Experience working with automated machinery and control systems
  • Mechanical fitting, fabrication or installation experience
  • The ability to read engineering drawings
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills
  • The ability to work calmly under pressure and as part of a team

A relevant trade or technical qualification would be an advantage, although strong industry experience may be considered instead.

You’ll be someone who gets stuck in, takes pride in getting things right and is always looking for ways to improve.

This is a great opportunity to work with innovative technology and contribute to the continued development of a world-first manufacturing process.
