Process Technician

Felton Industries was founded on the iconic wall-mounted shower mixer (Feltonmix) and the company continues to develop great shower mixers and tap ware for the New Zealand and offshore markets. We are a New Zealand owned and operated business.

The role is within Felton's finishing department where a small tight-knit team of three fully own the finishing process for our brand, including metal preparation, surface brushing and the PVD (Physical Vapour Deposition) plant. The appointee will be able to combine theoretical and process knowledge with hands-on experience.

The Process Technician will report to the Production Manager and take a hands-on role in:

• the day-to-day operation of Felton's PVD plant, including machine operation, routine maintenance, basic trouble-shooting and maintenaining the organisation and cleanliness of Felton's finishing department.
• hands-on preparation of components for PVD including brushing, cleaning and when required assembly
• ensuring the quality and supply of PVD components and finishing through to QC
• maintaining accurate PVD process records and communicating process variations and issues to support consistent production

Skills required:

• Ideally some relevant experience or a STEM qualification or related trade discipline

• Problem solving skills, a structured approach and a desire to learn

• Basic knowledge of chemicals and materials

• Attention to detail.

The successful candidate will become a key member of a small team with many opportunities to demonstrate their abilities and deliver value. This role has the potential to migrate into Production or Operations Management.
