Process Workers

• Glass Processing business based in Smithfield
• Permanent roles of $30.79 - $34.00 per hour depending on experience
• Flexibility on start and finish times  6am - 2.30pm or 7am - 3.30pm
• Full-time permanent role with a monthly paid RDO

About Us

Based in Smithfield, this locally based business is a key supplier to the building and construction industry and manufacturer a variety of glass products.  

Reporting to the Production Manager the successful candidates will join the team as Process Workers as a permanent employee working Monday to Friday with a monthly RDO.  Your day-to-day duties will consist to manually handle, lift, carry, and move glass sheets, panels, and finished products throughout the factory

Tasks & Responsibilities

• Load and unload glass from racks, pallets, trolleys, and processing equipment
• Use manual handling equipment such as glass suction lifters, A-frames, carts, and trolleys
• Stack and store glass products safely according to workplace procedures
• Assist Machine Operators with feeding and removing glass from processing machinery
• Package finished glass products for transport and ensure they are secured correctly
• Work as part of a production team to meet daily manufacturing targets
• Follow quality control procedures and factory operating instructions

Qualifications & Experience

• Ability to safely lift and move glass products of varying sizes and weights
• Comfortable standing for extended periods and performing repetitive manual tasks
• Ability to work around machinery, noise, and industrial environments
• Good attention to detail when handling fragile materials

Safety Requirements

• Wear required PPE including safety glasses, gloves, steel-capped boots, and long pants

• Follow all glass handling procedures to minimise risk of cuts, strains, and breakages

• Use team lifting techniques when handling large or heavy glass sheets

• Safely position glass sheets for cutting, edging, drilling, laminating, or other processing operations

As part of our recruitment process, successful candidates will be required to complete a pre-employment medical prior to receiving a formal offer. The cost of this medical will be fully covered by the business.
