About the Opportunity

We are seeking a technically driven and experienced Process Engineering Manager to lead process development, equipment optimization, and engineering improvement initiatives within a semiconductor equipment manufacturing environment.

This role offers the opportunity to work with advanced semiconductor handling, sorting, and inspection technologies while driving improvements in equipment performance, process stability, and operational efficiency.

The successful candidate will combine strong technical expertise with hands-on problem-solving capabilities and the ability to lead engineering teams in delivering innovative, reliable, and high-performance equipment solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Process Engineering & Development

  • Lead process engineering activities covering equipment characterization, process development, optimization, and qualification.
  • Develop and refine process parameters for semiconductor sorting, handling, inspection, and automated equipment systems.
  • Conduct engineering feasibility studies, process evaluations, and Design of Experiments (DOE) to establish robust and repeatable operating conditions.
  • Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and software engineering teams to support new equipment development, system integration, and product introduction.
  • Establish process specifications, performance benchmarks, and technical standards to ensure equipment meets operational and customer requirements.

Equipment Performance & Continuous Improvement

  • Drive engineering initiatives to improve equipment throughput, accuracy, reliability, and overall process capability.
  • Identify opportunities to minimize process variation, reduce defects, improve yield, and enhance machine productivity.
  • Analyze equipment performance data to identify trends, technical limitations, and areas for process enhancement.
  • Implement sustainable improvement measures to strengthen equipment performance and reduce operational costs.
  • Support equipment upgrades, technology enhancements, and process standardization across product platforms.

Technical Troubleshooting & Customer Support

  • Provide technical leadership in investigating complex process-related equipment issues and performance deviations.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions using structured methodologies such as 8D, FMEA, and Fishbone Analysis.
  • Support equipment installation, process qualification, and customer acceptance testing.
  • Work closely with customers and field service teams to resolve technical challenges and optimize equipment performance at customer sites.
  • Provide technical recommendations to improve process stability, equipment utilization, and long-term reliability.

Engineering Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of process engineers, ensuring strong technical capabilities and effective project execution.
  • Manage engineering priorities, project timelines, and resources to support business and customer requirements.
  • Partner with R&D, manufacturing, quality, applications, and technical sales teams to deliver effective equipment and process solutions.
  • Provide technical input during customer specification reviews, equipment feasibility assessments, and new product development discussions.
  • Establish engineering best practices, technical documentation, and knowledge-sharing initiatives to strengthen process engineering capabilities.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Strong experience in process engineering, equipment development, or technical applications within the semiconductor equipment or industrial automation industry.
  • Prior exposure to semiconductor sorting machines, die handling systems, inspection equipment, or backend assembly and packaging technologies would be highly advantageous.
  • Sound understanding of precision automation, equipment process characterization, and machine performance optimization.
  • Hands-on experience in process development, equipment qualification, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Familiarity with Design of Experiments (DOE), Statistical Process Control (SPC), FMEA, and structured root cause analysis methodologies.
  • Proven ability to lead technical teams, manage engineering projects, and collaborate with multidisciplinary stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret equipment performance data and translate findings into practical engineering improvements.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Willingness to provide hands-on technical support during equipment development, commissioning, and customer qualification activities.

Why Join Us?

  • Work with advanced semiconductor automation, sorting, and inspection technologies.

  • Lead meaningful engineering initiatives that directly influence equipment performance and product competitiveness.

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams on technically challenging projects.

  • Contribute to equipment innovation, process excellence, and continuous improvement.

  • Take ownership of process engineering projects from initial development through customer qualification.
