The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Processing Superintendent to join our team at Ardmore Mining Operations in QLD. This is a permanent, full-time position operating on an 8 days on, 6 days off roster. Reporting to the Manager Ardmore Operations, the Processing Superintendent is responsible for leading the safe, reliable and cost-effective delivery of crushing, processing, product harvest and fixed plant maintenance activities. The role is FIFO from Brisbane, Townsville or Cairns only, or DIDO from Mt Isa.

The role provides leadership across processing operations and maintenance, with a strong focus on safety, production performance, plant reliability, workforce capability and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead crushing, screening, conveying, wet processing, product handling, drying and harvest operations.
• Provide leadership and direction to processing supervisors, leading hands, operators, operator-maintainers and fixed plant maintenance personnel.
• Translate mine and sales plans into practical weekly and monthly production and maintenance priorities.
• Drive improvements in plant availability, utilisation, throughput, recovery, product quality and cost performance.
• Manage the interface between operations and maintenance, including defect management, shutdown readiness, breakdown response and safe return to service.
• Monitor sampling, laboratory and quality trends to maintain process control and ensure customer specifications are achieved.
• Lead risk management, critical control verification, field leadership and incident action close-out.
• Build team capability through coaching, competency development, succession planning and consistent performance management.
• Manage contractors, expenditure, consumables and resources within approved plans and delegated authority.
• Provide reporting on safety, people, production, quality, downtime, maintenance and improvement priorities.

Qualifications / Skills / Experience:

• Substantial leadership experience in mineral processing, crushing or comparable fixed plant operations.
• Demonstrated experience leading supervisors and multidisciplinary crews within a rostered mining or heavy industrial environment.
• Strong knowledge of crushing, screening, conveying, pumping, wet processing, stockpiling, product handling and fixed plant maintenance risks.
• Demonstrated experience improving plant reliability, throughput, recovery, product quality and cost performance.
• Sound understanding of mine safety obligations, isolations, stored energy, mobile plant interaction and management of change.
• Strong planning, problem-solving, investigation, contractor management and budgeting skills.
• Experience using Pronto or a comparable CMMS/ERP, production reporting tools and Microsoft Office.
• Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to build accountability and capability across the team.
• Hold a current C Class Driver Licence.
• Ability to satisfy site medical, fitness-for-work and competency requirements.
• A relevant qualification in mineral processing, engineering, maintenance or frontline leadership is desirable.
