What they need

The Process & Inventory Analyst is an early-career role supporting inventory accuracy, supply chain reporting, and process improvement across CSP plants. Working under the guidance of the Manager, Supply Chain Systems & Excellence, the analyst collects and checks data, maintains Plan for Every Part (PFEP) record, and supports plant improvement activities. The role provides practical development in QAD, inventory control, planning, and standard work through coaching and on-site experience.

Essential Job Functions

  • Collect, organize, and maintain PFEP information with plant teams, including demand, lead times, replenishment settings, packaging, storage, and points of use.
  • Prepare recurring inventory reports using established templates; check data for completeness and accuracy and flag unusual results for review.
  • Assist with analysis of raw material, purchased components, work-in-process, and finished goods to identify shortages, excess stock, and slow-moving inventory.
  • Compile cycle-count results, track count completion, and help document variances; support physical inventory preparation and follow-up activities.
  • Help trace inventory discrepancies through receiving, production reporting, transfers, scrap, and shipping transactions with experienced team members.
  • Gather planning parameters and compare them with approved standards; document potential gaps for review by the manager and plant Materials team.
  • Participate in plant assessments and improvement workshops; take process observations, maintain action logs, and follow up on assigned tasks.
  • Help update work instructions and training materials; assist with the rollout of approved process changes under the direction of COE and plant leads.
  • Support trade compliance documentation for the Logistics & Supply Chain Optimization Manager, including country-of-origin and shipment records.
  • Support Material-availability, capacity, and inventory-bank studies by gathering data and completing defined analyses; submit findings for review.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Business, or a related field, or equivalent relevant education and practical experience.
  • Zero to two years of relevant experience; recent graduates, internships, co-ops, and relevant project work are welcome.
  • Basic understanding of inventory or supply chain concepts and a willingness to learn manufacturing processes.
  • Working knowledge of Excel, including sorting, filtering, and basic formulas; willingness to develop pivot-table, lookup, and data-analysis skills.
  • Attention to detail, clear communication, task organization, and willingness to ask questions and raise issues promptly.

Preferred Experience

  • Internship, co-op, or hands-on exposure to manufacturing, warehousing, production planning, or inventory control.
  • Exposure to an ERP system such as QAD, or to inventory transactions and cycle counting; QAD experience is not required.
  • Exposure to pivot tables, lookups, Power Query, or Power BI. Professional certifications are not required.

Skills & Competencies

Curious, dependable, and comfortable learning on the plant floor. Checks work carefully, accepts feedback, and follows assigned actions through to completion.

  • Working Relationships & Accountability
  • Works under the Systems & Excellence Manager’s guidance and supports plant Materials teams. The manager reviews analyses and recommendations. This role does not independently approve inventory adjustments, master-data changes, or policy changes.
  • Performance Measures
  • Accuracy and timeliness of assigned reports, PFEP data completeness, action-log upkeep, completion of assigned tasks, and demonstrated development of inventory, Excel, and QAD skills.
  • Work Environment & Travel
  • Based in the Auburn Hills, MI main office, with 50% travel to CSP facilities, including overnight stays, for assessments, workshops, training, and implementation. Work includes office analysis and on-site activity in manufacturing environments. Follow applicable site safety and PPE requirements.
