Procurement account manager

About the Role

Are you an experienced procurement professional with a strong commercial mindset and excellent analytical skills? We are looking for a Procurement Account Manager / Strategic Buyer to join a dynamic international manufacturing environment.

In this role, you will be responsible for developing and managing a robust supplier network, driving cost optimization initiatives, ensuring supply continuity, and supporting new product development projects. You will work closely with stakeholders across Procurement, R&D, Quality, Logistics, and Supply Chain to build and maintain a high-performing supplier base.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement sourcing strategies aligned with business objectives.
• Build and maintain long-term relationships with domestic and international suppliers.
• Lead commercial negotiations and contract discussions.
• Involve suppliers early in the product development process to drive innovation and value creation.
• Coordinate cross-functional Supplier Account Teams, including stakeholders from Quality, Logistics, and R&D.
• Monitor supplier capacity and align it with business demand.
• Manage and continuously improve procurement processes.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate supply chain risks.
• Ensure business continuity and material availability.
• Collaborate with stakeholders at various levels across the organization.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in Procurement, Strategic Sourcing, or Supplier Management.
• Experience within a technical, industrial, or manufacturing environment.
• Experience with New Product Introduction (NPI) is considered an advantage.
• Strong negotiation and relationship management skills.
• Proven ability to manage multiple stakeholders in a complex environment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with the ability to develop business cases.
• Excellent communication and influencing skills.
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
• Additional language skills, such as Dutch or German, are considered a plus.
• Willingness to travel internationally on occasion.
• Affinity with technical products and the ability to interpret technical documentation.
