Overview:
Turn a complex equipment pipeline into a credible delivery plan. You will work with manufacturers, engineering partners and project leaders to secure critical power and cooling equipment, negotiate sound commercial terms and resolve supply risks before they reach the field. Your work will directly influence when new AI capacity becomes available.

Our client is building and operating the power, cooling and supporting infrastructure for high-density AI. This current program includes two facility retrofit projects supporting NVIDIA GB300 NVL72 and Vera Rubin deployments. An independent voice in readiness decisions, access to specialist test resources, and influence from early design through operational handover.

Job Duties

  • Maintain the owner/contractor/customer procurement boundary and a consolidated long-lead schedule covering both sites.
  • Obtain engineering-approved specifications before commitments; compare bids on scope, delivery, installed cost, support and technical exclusions.
  • Negotiate pricing, payment milestones, delivery obligations, warranty timing, FAT access, acceptance requirements and cancellation/change terms with authorized legal support.
  • Verify manufacturing-slot commitments and production status; escalate unsupported delivery dates and manage authorized contingency sourcing.
  • Coordinate equipment submittals, FAT, shipping, receiving inspection, storage protection and site installation readiness.
  • Reconcile commitments, deposits, invoices, approved changes and forecast cash needs with Finance and site PMs.
  • Track service availability, startup obligations, spare parts and warranty ownership for all major equipment.
  • Manage approved commercial communications and claims records; protect confidentiality and document conflicts of interest.

Requirements:

  • 7 or more years in capital equipment procurement or construction commercial management.
  • Demonstrated long-lead electrical/mechanical sourcing, contract negotiation and vendor expediting experience.
  • Ability to assess milestone payments, technical exclusions, warranties, logistics and total installed cost.
  • Relevant degree or equivalent practical commercial/supply-chain experience.
  • Preferred/Bonus: Critical facility switchgear, transformers, UPS, generator and CDU procurement; OEM relationships; CPSM/CSCP or comparable credentials; complex supplier claims.

Your impact

  • First 30 days: confirm purchasing boundaries and critical supplier commitments.
  • By day 60: close commercial scope gaps and implement verifiable long-lead expediting and cash forecasts.
  • By day 90: maintain accurate commitments and evidence-backed delivery status with contingency decisions escalated early.

Authority and collaboration
Lead sourcing and commercial recommendations. Commit funds or amend terms only within written authority. Engineering approves technical acceptability; the VP/CEO authorizes purchases as delegated; Finance independently validates payment controls. Procurement does not approve its own invoices for payment.

Working Arrangements
This role requires substantive on-site presence at assigned Maryland facilities and travel between sites. Planned off-hours participation may be needed during commissioning or live-system interventions, with coordinated backup coverage.

Level One Personnel is an equal opportunity and affirmative action employer. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability, protected veteran status or other status protected by law.
