Type: Part-time, about 4 hours a day

Duration: 3 months. Do well and we continue with you.

Stipend: Rs. 5,000 a month; more for the right candidate.

Materials Enterprises is a procurement solutions company. We help businesses across India streamline their procurement, reduce costs and build stronger supplier relationships - all under one umbrella, through Annual Rate Contracts and Spot Orders. Our range covers safety and industrial supplies (MRO), corporate gifting and branded giveaways, housekeeping, pantry and facility supplies, paper and stationery, laboratory supplies, certified PPE and premium agricultural products, supplied to a wide network of reputed companies. We have branches in Bangalore, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Sri City and Canada.

The role

This is a client-facing buying role, not sales. You will never have to sell anything. Your job is the opposite: sit on our side of the table and get us the best deal. You will work with the biggest distributors of India for different big brands, and directly with the manufacturers of big brands. Your calls and negotiations decide what we pay suppliers, and your follow-ups keep our clients informed.

What you will do

• Call OEMs and authorised distributors and collect competitive quotes for bulk orders

• Negotiate on price and terms until we get the best deal. The first quote is never the final one.

• Coordinate with clients over phone and email: order updates, dispatch and docket details

• Send a daily tracking report of your calls, quotes and progress (this is mandatory)

• On quieter days, take up ad hoc work and help us find ways to automate our processes + GST

What we need

• Strong negotiation and bargaining skills - this is the heart of the role

• Clear spoken English (this matters most) and Hindi; Telugu is good to have, not a must

• Comfortable on the phone all day, with both suppliers and clients: cold-calling new suppliers, following up until you get an answer

• Disciplined about the daily report. It is how a remote role stays honest.
