Build a supply chain function from the ground up in a fast-growing advanced engineering business.

I'm working with an ambitious, well-backed UK technology and manufacturing company operating at the intersection of advanced electronics, engineering and next-generation industrial technology.

The business is entering an exciting phase of growth, transitioning from product development into scaled manufacturing. To support this, we're looking for a commercially astute, technically credible Lead Supply Chain & Procurement Manager to take ownership of its procurement strategy and build the infrastructure needed for long-term growth.

This isn't a role for someone who wants to inherit an established function and simply manage existing processes. It's an opportunity to build something, shape decisions and have a direct impact on the company's success.

The Opportunity

You'll take ownership of procurement and supply chain operations across a technically complex hardware portfolio, working closely with engineering, manufacturing and senior leadership.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Building the function: Establish procurement processes, supplier networks and sourcing strategies from the ground up.
• Electronics procurement: Own sourcing across semiconductors, PCBs, electronic assemblies and specialist engineered components.
• Supplier strategy: Identify, qualify and negotiate with suppliers, developing resilient, multi-source supply chains.
• Production readiness: Work alongside engineering and manufacturing teams to ensure component availability supports increasing production volumes.
• Systems & processes: Lead the introduction of appropriate ERP/MRP systems, inventory management and materials planning.
• Risk management: Proactively manage component shortages, obsolescence, lead times and supply chain vulnerabilities.
• Commercial ownership: Balance cost, quality, availability and supplier performance without compromising engineering requirements.

What We're Looking For

We're particularly interested in speaking with candidates who have:

• 5+ years' experience in procurement or supply chain management within electronics, hardware manufacturing or advanced engineering .
• Strong knowledge of electronic components, PCB assemblies, semiconductors and associated supplier ecosystems.
• Experience supporting the transition from product development into manufacturing and production.
• A track record of establishing or improving procurement functions, ideally within a start-up, scale-up or rapidly growing SME.
• Understanding of component lifecycle management, supplier qualification and inventory planning.
• Experience implementing or working with ERP/MRP systems.
• A pragmatic, commercially minded approach and the confidence to operate directly with technical teams.

Experience in aerospace, defence, robotics, industrial electronics or other highly engineered manufacturing environments would be particularly interesting.
