Procurement Director

We are looking for an experienced Procurement Head to lead the company’s procurement strategy and operations, with a strong focus on Direct Materials, Raw Materials, Ingredients, and Packaging Materials.

This is a senior leadership role suited for a procurement professional with strong experience in a manufacturing environment, particularly someone who has managed a complex portfolio of materials sourced from both local and international suppliers.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the overall procurement strategy for direct materials, raw materials, ingredients, and packaging materials.
• Manage the sourcing and procurement of a large and diverse portfolio of materials required for multiple products.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with local and international suppliers.
• Lead negotiations on pricing, minimum order quantities (MOQs), payment terms, lead times, and supply agreements.
• Identify opportunities for cost optimization while ensuring quality, availability, and continuity of supply.
• Develop sourcing strategies for high-value and/or specialized materials, including materials purchased in relatively low volumes but with significant cost impact.
• Oversee local and international sourcing activities and ensure timely availability of materials.
• Partner closely with Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Planning, Quality, R&D/Product Development, Finance, and other key stakeholders.
• Monitor supplier performance, risks, lead times, pricing movements, and market conditions.
• Establish appropriate procurement policies, processes, controls, and supplier management practices.
• Lead and develop the procurement team and drive continuous improvement across the function.
• Ensure procurement activities are aligned with business requirements, quality standards, inventory objectives, and overall company strategy.

Ideal Candidate

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Business, Engineering, or a related field.
• 10+ years of progressive procurement/sourcing experience, with significant experience in a leadership capacity.
• Strong background in Direct Materials / Raw Materials / Ingredients / Packaging procurement.
• Experience in manufacturing, pharmaceutical, FMCG, food & beverage, consumer goods, personal care, chemicals, or a similar industry is highly preferred.
• Demonstrated experience managing a large number and variety of materials/SKUs and suppliers.
• Strong experience in local and international sourcing.
• Proven expertise in supplier negotiations, cost management, MOQ, lead times, contracts, and supply continuity.
• Strong commercial and analytical skills, with the ability to evaluate total cost and supplier value beyond purchase price.
• Experience managing and developing procurement teams.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Strategic thinker who is also comfortable getting into the details of procurement operations.

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate is someone who has hands-on experience procuring materials that directly go into the finished product.

This is not primarily an indirect procurement role. Candidates whose experience is mainly in IT, facilities, office supplies, services, MRO, or other corporate indirect categories may not be aligned with the position.

Experience handling high-value materials, multiple material categories, complex supplier networks, high MOQs, and both local and international sourcing will be highly advantageous.
