Procurement Engineer

We are looking for a Procurement Engineer to join the Cluj Metro Project team in Cluj-Napoca, Romania.

General Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical or Industrial Engineering,
• Minimum 3 years of procurement experience in construction, infrastructure, metro, railway or similar large-scale projects,
• Experience in purchasing construction materials, equipment, subcontractor services and technical items,
• Knowledge of procurement processes including RFQ preparation, bid comparison, negotiation, purchase order follow-up and supplier performance monitoring,
• Ability to review technical specifications, BOQs and material requirements in coordination with technical departments,
• Experience with ERP systems and strong command of MS Office applications, particularly Excel,
• Good command of English,
• Strong communication, negotiation and coordination skills,
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced project environment.

Job Description

• Managing end-to-end procurement activities for materials, equipment, services and subcontract packages required by the project,
• Collecting and evaluating supplier quotations in line with technical, commercial and contractual requirements,
• Preparing comparative analyses, procurement reports and approval documentation,
• Coordinating with technical office, construction, planning, logistics and finance teams to ensure timely purchasing,
• Following up purchase orders, deliveries, invoices and supplier commitments,
• Supporting supplier sourcing, negotiation and contract finalization processes,
• Monitoring procurement schedules and identifying potential supply-related risks,
• Maintaining accurate procurement records and supporting project reporting requirements.
