Procurement Engineer

About the Role

Alfanar Projects Egypt is seeking an experienced and motivated Purchase Engineer to join its Supply Chain team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the end-to-end procurement process for project materials, equipment, and services while ensuring cost efficiency, timely delivery, and compliance with company standards and project requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage assigned purchasing activities and procurement projects in alignment with departmental objectives.
• Prepare and issue Requests for Quotation (RFQs) based on project specifications and stakeholder requirements.
• Obtain, evaluate, and negotiate supplier quotations to achieve the best commercial and technical value.
• Prepare comparison sheets and recommendations for supplier selection and award.
• Create and process Purchase Orders (POs) while coordinating necessary approvals.
• Monitor procurement activities and maintain accurate status reports for Purchase Requests (PRs).
• Develop and maintain relationships with existing suppliers while identifying and evaluating new sources.
• Analyze market trends, pricing, lead times, and supplier capabilities to support procurement decisions.
• Coordinate with suppliers to secure acknowledgments, invoices, and required procurement documentation.
• Verify supplier information and maintain accurate records within SAP and procurement systems.
• Support commercial and logistics teams with LC requirements, shipping coordination, and customs-related matters.
• Ensure compliance with company procurement procedures, quality standards, and ethical sourcing practices.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.
• Minimum 2-5 years of experience in Purchasing, Procurement, or Supply Chain.
• Experience in engineering, construction, EPC, or project-based environments is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of procurement processes, supplier management, and commercial negotiations.
• Strong communication, negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent organizational and stakeholder management abilities.
• Proficiency in English (written and spoken).
