Procurement Engineer

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Procurement Planning Identify purchasing requirements and determine technical specifications for equipment, materials, supplies, and services.
• Supplier Sourcing & Evaluation Identify and evaluate potential suppliers, request quotations, invite tenders, and assess supplier proposals based on technical and commercial criteria.
• Technical Review Review technical specifications, drawings, and data sheets to ensure compliance with project requirements and applicable standards.
• Price Negotiation Negotiate prices, payment terms, delivery schedules, and contract conditions with suppliers.
• Purchase Orders Prepare and process purchase orders and coordinate the procurement of goods and services.
• Delivery Coordination Monitor order progress, ensure timely deliveries, and resolve supply or delivery issues.
• Import & Logistics Coordination Coordinate import shipments by sea, air, and land, follow up with freight forwarders, shipping lines and agents, and monitor ETD/ETA

Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related engineering field.
• 1–3 years experience in procurement and import coordination (preferably in the fire protection/MEP/Contracting industry.)
• Good knowledge of procurement processes, supplier management, and cost control.
• Ecperience in import shipments (sea,air and land) and customs clearance procedures.
• Familiarity with MOFAIC and other relevant ministry procedures.
• Proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel) and procurement/ERP systems.
• Storng technical, analytical and problem solving skills.
• Excellent communication and coordination skills.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Good command of English.
