Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced and highly resourceful Procurement Engineer with strong knowledge of the Abu Dhabi and UAE construction supply market. (Engineer meaning that the successful candidate must be able to read drawings.)

The successful candidate must have practical procurement experience across building construction, civil works, MEP, villas, commercial fit-out, maintenance, and general construction materials. This is not an entry-level or training position. The candidate must have sufficient previous experience to take ownership of procurement activities and begin working effectively with minimal training or supervision.

The role requires someone who is organized, commercially aware, technically capable, computer proficient, and able to work quickly under pressure while maintaining complete and accurate procurement records.

Key Responsibilities

• Source materials, equipment, tools, subcontract services, and specialist items for active construction projects.
• Obtain and compare quotations based on specification, price, availability, delivery, warranty, and commercial terms.
• Negotiate pricing and payment terms with suppliers.
• Identify alternative suppliers and equivalent products when required.
• Review material requests, BOQs, drawings, specifications, and datasheets before purchasing.
• Prepare purchase orders and maintain accurate procurement records.
• Follow up suppliers closely to ensure timely delivery.
• Maintain supplier databases, pricing records, quotation comparisons, and procurement trackers.
• Support estimating and project teams with current UAE market pricing.
• Handle urgent and difficult-to-source requirements without relying on continuous supervision.

We need someone who is proactive, persistent, commercially aware, organized, and technically capable.

This role suits a person who does not stop at “cannot find it.” The expectation is to research the requirement, identify suppliers or alternatives, negotiate the best available terms, and follow the purchase through to delivery.

Mandatory Requirements

• Fluent English and Arabic.
• Minimum 3–5 years UAE construction procurement experience, preferably in Abu Dhabi.
• Strong knowledge of local suppliers and construction materials across: Civil and building works, MEP, Fit-out and interiors, Maintenance and renovation
• Able to understand BOQs, technical specifications, drawings, and material descriptions.
• Strong sourcing and negotiation skills.
• Highly resourceful — must know how to research, locate, compare, and secure materials, including difficult or unfamiliar items.
• Strong Microsoft Excel and general computer skills.
• Experience with Microsoft 365, SharePoint, ERP, or procurement systems.
• Fast and accurate typing, filing, and record keeping.
• Highly organized and able to manage multiple urgent requirements at the same time.
• Able to work effectively under pressure and with minimal training.

Pay: AED7,000.00 - AED10,000.00 per month
