Procurement Engineer -MEP

with a minimum 6-10 years of Gulf experience, especially in a construction company
Duties & Responsibilities:

• Material & Equipment Procurement
• Review project specifications, drawings, and BOQ to identify material and equipment requirements for Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) works.
• Source, evaluate, and procure materials, equipment, and subcontracted services in line with project needs and approved vendor lists.
• Ensure compliance with project standards, client requirements, and applicable codes.
• Vendor & Supplier Management
• Identify and prequalify suppliers and subcontractors.
• Request quotations (RFQs), evaluate technical and commercial offers, and prepare comparison sheets.
• Negotiate prices, delivery schedules, and payment terms to achieve cost savings without compromising quality.
• Maintain strong relationships with vendors and ensure timely performance.
• Coordination with Internal Teams
• Collaborate with project managers, site engineers, and MEP teams to forecast material requirements.
• Coordinate with the planning and cost-control departments to align procurement activities with project schedules and budgets.
• Work with the QA/QC team to ensure materials and equipment meet technical specifications and quality standards.
• Documentation & Compliance
• Prepare purchase orders, contracts, and procurement schedules.
• Maintain proper documentation of procurement activities, including supplier evaluations, approvals, and material submittals.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, contractual obligations, and ISO/quality management standards.
• Logistics & Delivery Management
• Monitor and follow up on order deliveries to ensure timely availability at the project site.
• Coordinate with logistics and warehouse teams for storage, handling, and distribution of MEP materials.
• Track shipping, customs clearance, and delivery schedules (for imported items).
• Cost & Risk Management
• Monitor procurement costs against the budget and highlight potential overruns.
• Analyze market trends and supplier performance to mitigate risks and avoid delays.
• Recommend cost-effective alternatives without compromising quality or project requirements.
• Reporting & Communication
• Provide regular procurement status reports to management and project teams.
• Update procurement logs, material tracking schedules, and vendor databases.
• Escalate critical procurement issues and propose solutions to avoid project delays.

Pay: AED2,000.00 - AED8,000.00 per month
