Procurement Executive

About the role

Xianfeng International (M) Sdn Bhd is seeking a Procurement Executive to join our dynamic team in Pasir Gudang, Johor. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in supporting our manufacturing and logistics operations. As a Procurement Executive, you will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and managing supplier relationships to ensure the timely and cost-effective procurement of materials and services. This role is essential to maintaining our operational efficiency and supporting the company's strategic objectives in the competitive manufacturing sector.

Key responsibilities

• Identifying and evaluating potential suppliers and vendors to meet the company's procurement needs
• Negotiating contracts, pricing, and terms with suppliers to achieve optimal cost savings whilst maintaining quality standards
• Processing purchase orders and managing procurement documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance
• Monitoring supplier performance and maintaining positive working relationships to support long-term partnerships
• Liaising with internal departments to understand procurement requirements and provide timely updates on order status
• Conducting market research to identify new suppliers and opportunities for cost reduction
• Maintaining and updating inventory records and supplier databases
• Ensuring compliance with company policies, procedures and relevant regulations in all procurement activities
• Preparing procurement reports and analysing spending patterns to identify areas for improvement
• Supporting the logistics team to ensure efficient receipt and storage of materials

What we're looking for

• Diploma or bachelor's degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, or a related field
• 2-4 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or a related role within the manufacturing or logistics sector
• Strong negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective supplier relationships
• Proficiency in using procurement software and Microsoft Office applications
• Sound knowledge of supply chain management principles and procurement best practices
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
• Attention to detail and accuracy in processing procurement documentation
• Problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to identifying cost-saving opportunities
• Knowledge of inventory management and logistics processes
• Fluency in English is essential; proficiency in Chinese and English is advantageous
