About the Role

Crystal Group is looking for an experienced Head of Procurement to lead the procurement function across the organization. The role will be responsible for developing procurement strategies, vendor management, cost optimization, negotiations, purchase planning, and ensuring timely availability of materials, equipment, and services.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the end-to-end procurement and purchase function.
• Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with business requirements and cost objectives.
• Identify, evaluate, onboard, and manage reliable vendors and suppliers.
• Negotiate pricing, payment terms, contracts, SLAs, and commercial conditions with vendors.
• Drive cost reduction, savings, and value optimization across procurement categories.
• Establish and maintain strong vendor relationships while ensuring competitive sourcing.
• Oversee the complete RFQ, quotation comparison, negotiation, PO, delivery, and payment coordination process.
• Ensure timely procurement of materials, spare parts, equipment, consumables, and services.
• Coordinate with Operations, Finance, Sales, Inventory, and Management to understand and fulfill procurement requirements.
• Monitor supplier performance, quality, delivery timelines, and adherence to agreed terms.
• Develop alternate vendor sources and contingency plans to minimize supply-chain risks.
• Establish procurement policies, SOPs, approval matrices, and compliance processes.
• Review purchase orders and ensure procurement is conducted within approved budgets.
• Monitor inventory levels and procurement planning to prevent stock-outs and excess inventory.
• Prepare and present procurement MIS, cost analysis, vendor performance reports, and savings reports to management.
• Ensure proper documentation and compliance for all procurement transactions.
• Lead, mentor, and monitor the performance of the procurement/purchase team.
• Continuously identify opportunities for process improvement, automation, and procurement efficiency.

Preferred Industry Experience

Candidates with experience in Logistics, Cold Chain, Reefer, Transportation, Warehousing, Manufacturing, Engineering, or related industries will be preferred.

Required Skills

• Strong vendor management and negotiation skills.
• Excellent knowledge of procurement and purchase processes.
• Strong commercial and analytical understanding.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills.
• Strong knowledge of MS Excel, ERP/CRM, and procurement systems.
• Ability to analyze quotations, pricing, contracts, and supplier performance.
• Strong leadership and team-management capabilities.
• Good understanding of inventory and supply-chain processes.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple procurement requirements.

Qualification

Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.

MBA/PGDM in Supply Chain, Operations, or Procurement will be an added advantage.
