Procurement Leader

Tegra Medical Costa Rica is looking for a Procurement Leader to help transform our Procurement organization from a primarily transactional function into a strategic, data-driven partner focused on business value.

In this role, you will lead and develop our Buyer team while driving strategic sourcing, supplier performance, cost reduction, risk mitigation, process improvement, and inventory optimization. You will work closely with Supply Chain, Operations, Finance, Quality, Supplier Quality, Engineering, Maintenance, and Warehouse teams, as well as national and international suppliers.

What you’ll be responsible for:

🔹 Lead, coach, and develop the Procurement team

🔹 Build and execute strategic sourcing and category strategies

🔹 Lead supplier negotiations and strengthen strategic supplier relationships

🔹 Drive cost reduction and cost avoidance initiatives

🔹 Develop supplier performance and improvement plans

🔹 Identify and mitigate supply risks and develop alternative sourcing strategies

🔹 Use procurement, supplier, inventory, and financial data to drive decisions

🔹 Improve procurement processes and promote operational excellence

🔹 Support supply continuity in a regulated medical device manufacturing environment

What are we looking for?

✔️ Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, Procurement, or a related field

✔️ 7+ years of progressive procurement/purchasing experience , preferably in manufacturing

✔️ Strong experience in strategic sourcing, supplier negotiations, cost reduction, and vendor management

✔️ Experience leading or developing procurement professionals

✔️ Strong analytical and financial skills

✔️ Proficiency in SAP or a comparable ERP and advanced Excel skills

✔️ Advanced English, both written and verbal

✔️ Experience in medical devices, life sciences, or another regulated manufacturing environment is a plus
