Procurement Manager - BESS

We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Procurement Manager - BESS to join our team, to be based i n Sharjah, UAE. Procurement manager will be responsible to lead the end-to-end procurement and commercial sourcing of BESS equipment and associated electrical systems for utility-scale and commercial renewable energy projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute procurement strategies for BESS projects based on project specifications, technical requirements, project schedules, and budget.
• Identify suitable domestic and international suppliers/OEMs for BESS and associated equipment.
• Develop and maintain an approved supplier/vendor database.
• Conduct market intelligence and monitor battery cell, module, rack, PCS, and BESS system pricing and availability.
• Identify, prequalify, and evaluate BESS manufacturers, system integrators, and key component suppliers.
• Assess suppliers based on technical capability, manufacturing capacity, certifications, financial strength, project references, warranty, service capability, and delivery performance.
• Conduct supplier audits and factory assessments where required.
• Prepare and issue RFQs/RFPs based on approved technical specifications and BOQs.
• Obtain and evaluate techno-commercial offers from suppliers.
• Prepare commercial comparison statements, cost analyses, and negotiation strategies.
• Prepare and release purchase orders/contracts in line with approved commercial terms.
• Ensure purchase orders accurately reflect technical specifications, quantities, delivery milestones, payment terms, warranties, and contractual obligations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree Electrical Engineering.
• 7–12 years of procurement/supply-chain experience, preferably within BESS, solar EPC, renewable energy, electrical infrastructure, or power projects .
• Demonstrated experience in procurement of BESS or major electrical equipment.
• Strong understanding of BESS technical and commercial requirements.
• Experience handling large-value procurement packages and international suppliers.
• Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar) is an advantage
• Good knowledge of MS Office.
