  • Develop and implement procurement strategies across direct and indirect categories.
  • Identify, evaluate, qualify and develop suppliers to support business requirements and future growth.
  • Negotiate pricing, contracts, commercial terms and service agreements.

  • Establish and monitor procurement KPIs, providing regular performance reporting to senior management.
  • Drive annual cost reduction and cost avoidance programmes through strategic sourcing, supplier consolidation, volume leverage and process improvement.

  • Develop contingency plans for critical and single-source materials.
  • Work closely with Production Planning and Operations to optimise inventory levels and minimise the risk of production disruption.
  • Monitor supplier delivery and quality performance and lead corrective actions where required.
  • Develop and implement procurement policies, procedures and SOPs, ensuring processes are efficient, compliant and consistently applied.
  • Identify opportunities for digitalisation, automation and continuous improvement within the procurement function.
  • Support new product introduction, supplier qualification and engineering projects.
  • Provide senior management with procurement performance, market intelligence, supply risk and cost information.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting and business planning activities.

What Success Looks Like

In this role, you will be responsible for delivering measurable improvements across the procurement function, including:

  • Maintaining continuity of supply and minimising production disruption caused by material shortages.
  • Delivering agreed annual procurement cost savings and cost avoidance.
  • Improving supplier on-time delivery and quality performance.
  • Optimising inventory levels and working capital.
  • Improving procurement process compliance and efficiency.
  • Implementing robust procurement SOPs and best practices.
  • Developing a capable, engaged and high-performing procurement team.
  • Providing clear, accurate and commercially focused reporting to senior management.

About You

We are looking for an experienced procurement professional who can combine strategic thinking with strong operational delivery.

You will ideally have:

  • A degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Business, Engineering or a related discipline.
  • A professional procurement qualification such as CIPS, MCIPS, CPSM or equivalent would be desirable.
  • Significant procurement and supply chain experience, ideally gained within a manufacturing environment.
  • Previous experience managing and developing a procurement team.
  • A proven track record of delivering measurable cost savings and improving supplier performance and supply continuity.
  • Experience of strategic sourcing, supplier negotiations and contract management.
  • Strong knowledge of inventory management and supply planning.
  • Experience developing procurement processes, KPIs, SOPs and management reporting.
  • Experience using ERP/MRP systems and advanced Excel/data analysis.
  • Strong commercial awareness and supplier risk management skills.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and presentation skills.
  • Strong project and change management capabilities.

Experience within semiconductor, electronics, power electronics, industrial automation or other high-technology manufacturing environments would be particularly advantageous.
