Company Description

Magico Group has manufactured in Egypt since 1992. Our factory in Obour City has been in production since 2005, we are ISO 9001 certified, and we run our own free zone facility on the Cairo-Alexandria desert road.

We manufacture and distribute more than 150 products across agrochemicals, public health, veterinary pesticides and disinfectants, and we are building a second business in fertilizers, industrial minerals and chemicals. Every one of those products starts with a raw material or an active ingredient landing on time, at the right price, from a supplier we can trust.

Role Description

This role owns that first link. You will source and buy the active ingredients, raw materials, packaging and imported inputs the factory depends on - locally and internationally - and make sure a stockout never stops a production run.

This is not order-placing. You are expected to negotiate hard, qualify new suppliers, and know when a cheaper quote is actually a worse deal.

What you will do

• Source and purchase active ingredients, technical raw materials, packaging materials and imported inputs, locally and from overseas suppliers

• Negotiate price, payment terms, lead time and quality commitments - and hold suppliers to them after the contract is signed

• Qualify new suppliers: audit capability, verify certificates of analysis, and assess reliability before they enter the approved list

• Manage import logistics and documentation: Incoterms, letters of credit, customs clearance and coordination with freight forwarders

• Work with Production and Stock Control on consumption forecasts, reorder points and safety stock, so procurement runs ahead of need, not behind it

• Track raw material markets and currency exposure, and flag price risk before it becomes a cost overrun

• Maintain the approved supplier list, contracts and purchase records, and support ISO 9001 audits with clean documentation

• Resolve quality, delivery and invoice disputes with suppliers directly

• Report on cost savings, supplier performance and purchase price variance

What you will be measured on

Cost savings against budget, on-time delivery from suppliers, zero stockouts caused by procurement, and a supplier base that holds up under audit.

Qualifications

Essential

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or a related field

• 5+ years in procurement or purchasing, ideally in chemicals, agrochemicals, pharmaceuticals or another regulated manufacturing sector

• Experience buying internationally: Incoterms, letters of credit, import documentation and customs procedure

• A genuine negotiator - able to show deals you actually improved, not just orders you placed

• Comfortable qualifying and auditing suppliers, including reading a certificate of analysis

• Strong Excel and ERP experience; Odoo is an advantage

• Good written and spoken English and Arabic

• Organised enough to run multiple purchase orders and supplier relationships at once without dropping one

Advantageous

• Experience sourcing agrochemical active ingredients or industrial minerals

• Existing supplier relationships in China, India, Europe or the Gulf

• Familiarity with Egyptian import regulations and customs procedure for chemicals

• Exposure to ISO 9001 supplier qualification requirements
