Procurement Manager

Job Purpose

Responsible for planning, directing and coordinating all implementing of procurement activities of the organization particularly alignment of procurement procedures, limits of authorities, accreditation of suppliers and securing most advantageous terms for the organization. Spearheads strategic direction for the Procurement Group and aligns efforts across the company.

Main Responsibilities:

• Formulates/reviews and ensures uniform application of procurement policies and procedures.
• Devises and uses fruitful sourcing strategies by discovering profitable suppliers and initiating business and organization partnerships.
• Negotiates with external vendors to secure advantageous terms.
• Provides recommendations/inputs to the procurement planning of internal customers through the collaboration with the BU Heads.
• Spearheads supplier's accreditation and service evaluations.
• Review risk management for supply contracts and agreements.
• Provides analysis or unfavorable procurement requirements and provides control strategies.
• Control spend and build a culture of long-term saving on procurement costs.
• Provides and/or recommends approval of necessary goods and services.
• Oversees warehousing system and procedures.
• Oversees and develops the members of the Procurement Team.
• Track and reports key functional metrics to reduce cost and improve service effectiveness.
• Performs other tasks as may be assigned from time to time.

Experience and Qualifications

• Must have a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (preferably Mechanical or Electrical), license is an advantage.
• At least three (3) years' experience in shipping industry or related field.
• Knowledge in SAP (or any ERP is an advantage)
• Excellent skills in MS Office
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills
• Has a wide network of suppliers and contractors
