About the Role

We’re looking for a Procurement Manager to support procurement and purchasing across our four Be Fresh Market locations in Vancouver.

In this role, you’ll work closely with our Market Managers, Company leadership, and supplier partners to ensure our stores have the right products, from the right suppliers, at the right cost and at the right time.

This is a hands-on, multi-location role. You’ll regularly visit all four Be Fresh Market locations to work directly with store teams, understand inventory and product needs, review assortment opportunities, and help resolve purchasing and supplier issues.

You’ll help coordinate purchasing across the stores, manage supplier relationships, negotiate pricing and terms, support product sourcing and assortment decisions, and identify opportunities to improve product availability, margins, inventory management, and purchasing efficiency.

The ideal candidate has experience in grocery, food retail, CPG, natural foods, or a similar environment and brings strong commercial judgment, negotiation skills, and a collaborative, hands-on approach.

What You’ll Do

• Support procurement across four locations: Coordinate purchasing and procurement activities across all four Be Fresh Market stores, working closely with Market Managers to understand and respond to store needs.
• Work directly with our stores: Regularly visit all four locations to understand store-level needs, review inventory and product assortment, gather feedback, and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Manage supplier relationships: Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective suppliers, distributors, growers, and producers.
• Negotiate pricing and terms: Negotiate product costs, payment terms, minimum order quantities, delivery schedules, promotional support, and other supplier arrangements.
• Source products and suppliers: Identify and evaluate new products, suppliers, and sourcing opportunities that align with our customer needs, quality standards, and business objectives.
• Improve purchasing performance: Review product costs, purchasing patterns, supplier terms, and store needs to identify opportunities to improve margins and purchasing efficiency.
• Support product assortment: Collaborate with Company leadership, Market Managers, and Marketing on product assortment, seasonal products, promotions, new product introductions, and discontinuations.
• Manage product availability: Proactively address shortages, substitutions, discontinued products, delivery issues, and other supply challenges.
• Support inventory management: Work with Market Managers to improve inventory levels, product availability, ordering practices, inventory turnover, and waste reduction.
• Coordinate across locations: Identify opportunities to consolidate purchasing, standardize products and suppliers where appropriate, and leverage purchasing needs across all four stores.
• Monitor supplier performance: Evaluate suppliers based on pricing, quality, service, product availability, delivery reliability, and overall performance.
• Maintain accurate information: Ensure supplier, product, cost, pricing, and purchasing information is accurate and up to date.
• Collaborate across the business: Partner with Company leadership and shared service teams, including Operations, Marketing, Finance, and our store teams.
• Continuously improve: Identify practical opportunities to strengthen procurement processes, supplier relationships, and purchasing practices across Be Fresh Market.

What You Bring

• Minimum of five years of experience in procurement, purchasing, buying, category management, supply chain, or a related role.
• Experience in grocery, food retail, CPG, food distribution, natural foods, or a related industry is strongly preferred.
• Experience negotiating with suppliers and managing vendor relationships.
• Strong commercial judgment and understanding of product costs, margins, pricing, and inventory.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple suppliers, priorities, and deadlines.
• Comfort using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and purchasing or inventory management systems.
• Ability and willingness to travel regularly between our four Be Fresh Market locations across Vancouver.
• Comfortable working directly with Market Managers and store teams in a hands-on retail environment.
• Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain, operations, or a related field is preferred.
• Experience working with organic, local, clean food, or natural products is considered an asset.
• A positive, collaborative, and solutions-oriented approach.
• A passion for local, organic, and sustainable food, beverages, and artisanal products.

Pay: $65,000.00-$75,000.00 per year
