What they need

We are looking for an organised, practical and commercially minded Procurement Manager to join a busy operation and take ownership of purchasing, supplier relationships, stock management and procurement processes.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys variety. You’ll be managing suppliers and purchasing, but you’ll also be involved in stock control, local collections and deliveries, quality systems and making sure materials and equipment get where they need to be, when they need to be there.

The Role

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing supplier relationships and day-to-day supplier communication
  • Purchasing materials, equipment and plant
  • Purchasing and managing staff clothing and workwear requirements
  • Managing stock levels and ensuring required materials are available
  • Coordinating local deliveries, collections and pick-ups
  • Following the procurement process from initial purchase through to delivery
  • Maintaining accurate purchasing and stock records
  • Supporting and maintaining quality management systems
  • Working closely with the management team across operational requirements
  • Identifying and resolving supply, stock or delivery issues as they arise

What We're Looking For

We’re looking for someone who is organised, reliable and confident dealing with a range of suppliers and internal stakeholders.

You’ll ideally bring:

  • Previous procurement, purchasing, stores or supply experience
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills
  • Good communication and relationship-building skills
  • Confidence negotiating and communicating with suppliers
  • Strong attention to detail
  • The ability to follow established systems and processes
  • A practical approach and willingness to get involved where required
  • Confidence using computer-based purchasing and stock systems
  • A full New Zealand driver's licence
  • A forklift licence would be an advantage, however training can be provided for the right person

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys taking ownership of procurement and stock while still being involved in the practical, day-to-day operation of the business.

The hours for this role are Monday - Thursday: 7am - 430pm, and Friday: 7am - 2pm (48 hours per week)

If you are organised, proactive and enjoy keeping things moving, we would like to hear from you.

Apply today with your CV and a brief outline of your relevant experience.
