Procurement Manager

About the Role

Lead the company's purchasing function, from sourcing and supplier management to contracts and inventory planning.

Key Responsibilities

Sourcing & Tendering

• Plan purchases based on business needs and demand forecasts, and choose the right sourcing method
• Prepare and run tenders, quotations and negotiations, and evaluate bids
• Develop negotiation strategies and secure competitive pricing and terms

Supplier Management

• Identify, assess and onboard suppliers, including site visits and sample checks
• Monitor supplier performance against agreed criteria and build long-term partnerships
• Resolve contract, delivery and payment issues with suppliers

Contracts & Orders

• Draft, issue and manage purchase contracts and purchase orders
• Follow up on orders and take action when supply issues arise

Inventory & Planning

• Work with the warehouse and finance teams to set stock levels and keep supply on time

Department Management

• Set up and improve procurement policies, procedures and forms
• Report procurement performance to senior management regularly

Requirements

• Diploma or above in Business, Supply Chain, Economics or a related field
• Experience in purchasing or procurement; 3 years or more preferred
• Familiar with tendering, quotation and purchasing processes
• Strong negotiation and communication skills
• Good command of English and Mandarin, as the role involves regular communication with Mandarin-speaking suppliers

Good to Have

• Experience in building materials, construction or trading
• Supervisory experience
• Procurement certification such as CIPS, SIPMM, CPSM or equivalent (e.g. CPP/CPPM)
