Our client NINJAZ RETAILS SDN. BHD. is seeking a Procurement Manager (2nd Hand Smartphone) to join their team!

What you'll be doing?

• Building the supplier network: Identify, evaluate, and onboard suppliers of pre-owned mobile phones, including local wholesalers, traders, and overseas partners where needed, laying the foundation for a reliable and diverse supply chain.
• Leading negotiations: Take charge of negotiating pricing, payment terms, warranty terms, and return or replacement policies with suppliers, ensuring the best possible outcomes for the business.
• Shaping quality standards: Collaborate closely with the inspection team to establish device grading standards and incoming inspection criteria, helping suppliers consistently meet agreed benchmarks.
• Driving supplier performance: Run trial orders with new suppliers, compare performance, and maintain a supplier scorecard tracking pricing, grading accuracy, defect rate, return rate, and delivery performance.
• Monitoring the market: Keep a close eye on market pricing across different models and grades, providing recommendations on purchasing timing and quantities.
• Ensuring traceability and risk management: Maintain full traceability for every device, including IMEI, proof of source, and purchase records, while coordinating verification of iCloud/Google account locks, MDM status, blacklist status, and other device-related risks.
• Managing budgets and inventory: Oversee procurement budgets and inventory levels, providing weekly reports on purchase costs, inventory aging, and gross margins.
• Resolving disputes: Handle supplier disputes, claims, returns, and replacement matters with professionalism and fairness.
• Partnering with Finance: Work closely with the Finance team on payment approvals, ensuring dual verification is in place for high-value purchase orders.

Who are they looking for?

• Procurement or sourcing background: A minimum of 4 years' experience in procurement, supply chain, or sourcing is sought, ideally within consumer electronics, mobile phone distribution, or trading.
• Pre-owned device knowledge welcomed: Experience in pre-owned mobile phones would be a bonus, though it is not required.
• Negotiation and supplier management skills: Proven experience in supplier sourcing and negotiation is important, including payment terms, quality claims, and supplier performance management.
• Inspection awareness: A basic understanding of incoming inspection processes and device grading standards is helpful.
• Excel proficiency: Strong Excel skills are needed, with the ability to analyze pricing and gross margins by device model.
• Language skills: Fluency in English and Mandarin is required, as this role will involve liaising with suppliers and stakeholders across different regions; proficiency in Bahasa Malaysia is an advantage for communicating with local wholesalers and traders.
• Integrity and risk awareness: Strong integrity and risk awareness are valued, along with the ability to work confidently within audit, approval, and compliance procedures.
• Industry network a plus: An established network within the local mobile phone industry or cross-border electronics sourcing would be well regarded.
