Procurement Officer

PROCUREMENT OFFICER – KINSHASA, DRC

Location: Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo
Salary: USD 1,500 per month
Employment Type: Full-time

We are looking for an experienced and commercially minded Procurement Officer to join our team in Kinshasa, DRC. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the procurement process from sourcing and supplier evaluation through to negotiation, purchase orders, delivery, and supplier performance monitoring.

The ideal candidate should have strong procurement and negotiation skills, good knowledge of international and local sourcing, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced business environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the end-to-end procurement process for goods, materials, equipment, and services.
• Identify, evaluate, and develop reliable local and international suppliers.
• Obtain and analyse quotations and conduct commercial comparisons.
• Negotiate pricing, payment terms, delivery schedules, warranties, and other commercial conditions.
• Prepare and process purchase orders in accordance with company procedures.
• Monitor purchase orders and ensure timely delivery of goods and materials.
• Coordinate with Finance, Operations, Projects, Stores, and other departments to understand procurement requirements.
• Maintain an updated supplier database and procurement records.
• Monitor supplier performance, quality, pricing, and delivery timelines.
• Support cost reduction and value-for-money initiatives.
• Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies and approval procedures.
• Coordinate international purchases, including shipping and delivery arrangements where required.
• Assist in resolving supplier disputes, shortages, quality issues, and delivery delays.
• Prepare procurement reports and provide management with updates on purchasing activities and outstanding orders.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Commerce, or a related field.
• 3–5 years of relevant procurement experience, preferably in construction, telecommunications, infrastructure, engineering, manufacturing, or a similar industry.
• Strong supplier sourcing, negotiation, and commercial evaluation skills.
• Experience with both local and international procurement is preferred.
• Good understanding of purchase orders, quotations, commercial comparisons, payment terms, and logistics.
• Strong analytical and Excel skills.
• Excellent communication and coordination skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple procurement requirements simultaneously.
• High level of integrity, attention to detail, and commercial awareness.
• French and English language skills would be an advantage.
• Candidates with experience working in DRC or other African markets will be preferred.
