Procurement Officer

About the role

Responsible for managing the procurement of materials, components, services, and other business requirements to ensure the right quality, quantity, price, and delivery are achieved in accordance with company requirements. The role supports cost optimization, supplier performance, purchasing efficiency, and uninterrupted business and production operations.

Key responsibilities

• Manage daily procurement activities based on approved purchase requisitions, MRP requirements, production plans, and business needs.
• Source and identify suitable suppliers based on quality, price, delivery, capacity, reliability, and company requirements.
• Request and evaluate quotations (RFQ) and conduct price comparisons.
• Negotiate pricing, payment terms, lead times, MOQ, delivery schedules, and other commercial terms with suppliers.
• Prepare and issue Purchase Orders (PO) in accordance with approved requirements and authorization procedures.
• Follow up on open POs and monitor supplier delivery performance to ensure timely delivery.
• Coordinate with Material Planning, Production, Warehouse, Quality, Engineering, Finance, and suppliers to resolve procurement and supply issues.
• Expedite urgent or critical materials to prevent production delays or shortages.
• Monitor supplier pricing and identify opportunities for cost reduction and cost avoidance.
• Support supplier selection, evaluation, development, and performance monitoring.

About you

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Logistics, Manufacturing, or related field.
• 2–5 years of experience in Procurement, Purchasing, Sourcing, or Supply Chain, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience in purchasing raw materials, components, MRO items, services, or production-related materials is an advantage.
• Experience using ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or equivalent.
• Good understanding of purchasing processes, supplier management, quotation evaluation, negotiation, and commercial terms.
• Strong analytical, negotiation, communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel and procurement reporting.
