Procurement Officer

We are seeking an organised and commercially minded Procurement Officer to join our busy Supply Chain team at our national head office in Parafield Gardens.

About the role:

As Procurement Officer, you'll play an important role in ensuring our production teams have the right parts and materials, at the right time and at the right price.

Working closely with our Engineeering and Production teams, you'll manage procurement activities across both local and international suppliers. This is a varied role that will suit someone who enjoys being organised, solving problems, working with suppliers and keeping things moving. You'll have the opportunity to build strong supplier relationships, negotiate pricing and lead times, and contribute directly to the efficient delivery of Jamieson's products.

What you'll be doing:

• Prepare and process purchase orders in compliance with company policies and procedures.
• Prepare production orders from Bills of Material.
• Work closely with internal teams to ensure parts and materials are available when required.
• Liaise with local and international suppliers regarding pricing, availability, lead times and delivery.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing suppliers.
• Communicate with factories and internal teams to ensure production schedules and parts supply are aligned.
• Work with Accounts to resolve purchasing and invoice queries and coordinate supplier payments.
• Maintain accurate parts lists, pricing and procurement information within the ERP system.
• Provide general support to the Head of Supply Chain and the wider team as required.

What we are looking for:

We are looking for someone who is organised, proactive and commercailly aware, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and keep things moving when plans change.

Ideally you'll have:

• Previous experience in procurement, purchasing or supply chain.
• Experience working in a manufacturing, engineering transport, or similar environment.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.
• Experience working with an ERP system, SAP experience would be highly regarded.
• Good computer skills and confidence working with purchasing and inventory data.
• A practical, solutions focused approach to problem solving.
• The ability to work independently, while contributing positively to the team.
