Procurement Officer

Procurement Officer – Engineering & Production Firm

We are looking for an experienced Procurement Officer to join our supply chain team in a busy engineering and production environment, in Wellington, WC. You will keep the supply chain running smoothly by sourcing the right products at the right price and getting them to us on time.

Key responsibilities:

• Source products and materials and build strong supplier relationships
• Request, compare and negotiate quotes to secure the best price, quality and delivery terms
• Ensure strict compliance with company policies, procedures and approval limits
• Raise, track and expedite purchase orders
• • follow up on deliveries, back-orders and goods received
• Supervise the Procure-to-Pay cycle
• Reconcile supplier accounts and resolve queries or discrepancies
• Draw up procurement and spend reports
• Maintain supplier records and pricing in the ERP system
• Liaise with the stores, production and accounts departments
• Assist with periodic stock takes
• Work under pressure and meet tight deadlines

Requirements:

• Minimum 3 years' buying or procurement experience in an engineering or production environment
• Working accounting knowledge
• Relevant qualification / education
• Sound ERP knowledge
• Strong negotiation, communication and organizational skills
• Able to work overtime when required
• Live in Wellington or Paarl area
