Procurement Officer

About the Role

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Procurement Officer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and coordinating the timely delivery of materials, equipment, and services required for roadworks, infrastructure, and utility projects. The role requires strong supplier management skills, commercial awareness, and experience within the UAE construction sector.

Key Responsibilities

• Source and procure construction materials, equipment, and services for ongoing projects.
• Obtain and evaluate supplier quotations and prepare commercial comparison reports.
• Issue Purchase Orders (POs) and monitor the procurement process from requisition to delivery.
• Coordinate with project and site teams to ensure timely procurement of project requirements.
• Negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, and payment terms with suppliers and subcontractors.
• Follow up on material deliveries to ensure compliance with project schedules.
• Maintain accurate procurement records, supplier databases, and purchase documentation.
• Liaise with suppliers, logistics providers, and site teams to resolve delivery and supply issues.
• Monitor inventory levels and coordinate replenishment to prevent material shortages.
• Ensure all procured materials meet project specifications and quality requirements.
• Support supplier performance evaluations and maintain approved vendor lists.
• Prepare procurement status reports and assist management with cost control initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and procedures.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 5-7 years of procurement experience in roadworks, civil construction, infrastructure, or utility projects.
• Strong knowledge of construction materials, suppliers, and procurement practices.
• Experience in procuring materials for roads, drainage, sewerage, water networks, telecom, and street lighting projects.
• Familiarity with the UAE construction market and supplier network.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel.
• Experience using ERP or procurement systems is preferred.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple procurement requests and work effectively under pressure.
• Valid UAE Driving License is an advantage.
