Procurement Officer (Mining)

Key responsibilities

• Identify and evaluate potential suppliers for mining equipment, materials, and services, ensuring they meet quality and regulatory standards
• Prepare and issue purchase orders, ensuring accuracy of specifications, quantities, pricing, and delivery terms
• Negotiate contracts and pricing with suppliers to achieve optimal cost savings whilst maintaining quality standards
• Monitor supplier performance and maintain relationships to ensure consistent delivery and service levels
• Track and manage inventory levels to prevent stockouts and minimise excess stock
• Verify invoices against purchase orders and delivery documents to ensure accuracy before payment processing
• Maintain detailed procurement records and documentation in compliance with company policies and regulations
• Liaise with operations teams to understand procurement needs and timelines for mining-related materials and equipment
• Support the implementation of procurement procedures and contribute to process improvements
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and legal requirements in all procurement activities

What we're looking for

• Proven experience in procurement, purchasing, or inventory management, preferably in the mining or manufacturing sector
• Strong knowledge of procurement processes, supplier evaluation, and contract management
• Excellent negotiation skills and the ability to manage supplier relationships effectively
• Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office applications
• Attention to detail with strong organisational and time management abilities
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills in both English and Indonesian
• Understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations relevant to mining operations
• A bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is advantageous
• Professional certifications in procurement or supply chain management are preferred
