Procurement Operations Lead

Roles and Responsibilities

1. Oversee the optimization of resources and the effective implementation of Procure-to-Pay (P2P) operational excellence strategies, processes, and activities in alignment with Supply Chain Management (SCM) and organizational objectives.

2. Lead the implementation of strategic procurement activities across all sites, including coordination and support for Accounts Payable (AP) operations.

3. Directly manage high-value and high-volume procurement transactions and collaborate with strategic sourcing specialists to identify opportunities for long-term contracts that improve cost efficiency and operational performance.

4. Collaborate with internal departments to ensure the selection and management of reliable vendors that deliver high-quality goods and services at the lowest landed cost while maintaining adequate capacity, on-time delivery, and continuous improvement.

5. Ensure on-time, in-full (OTIF) delivery by planning, directing, and controlling the group's strategic procurement programs in accordance with established standards and procedures, including:

   • Reviewing and evaluating purchase requisitions against available inventory.
   • Implementing appropriate sourcing strategies based on established spending thresholds.
   • Evaluating and endorsing qualified vendors.
   • Validating and approving recommended commodity specifications, statements of work, performance terms, acceptance criteria, and budget availability.
   • Approving or endorsing purchase orders and contracts within authorized spending limits.

6. Lead coordination with technical, legal, and commercial teams before, during, and after contract negotiations or purchase order issuance, particularly in managing critical purchase orders and resolving contractual or procurement-related issues.

7. Facilitate collaboration with facilities teams and internal stakeholders to align procurement targets, develop advance sourcing plans, and resolve contractual concerns, including product rejections, short shipments, warranty claims, and insurance claims.

8. Initiate continuous improvement initiatives, including process documentation, workflow simplification, and vendor development.

9. Coach, train, and develop direct reports to strengthen their technical capabilities, job performance, and professional competencies.

10. Establish team performance metrics and objectives, monitor results, and conduct performance evaluations to ensure alignment with organizational goals.

11. Identify and recommend appropriate staff development initiatives and training programs to address competency gaps and support career progression
