Procurement / Project Commercial Controller

About the role

This is a Procurement role responsible for sourcing, evaluating and negotiating with suppliers to obtain the best pricing, quality and delivery terms. You will manage the full procurement cycle including preparing purchase requisitions, purchase orders, and letters of award, while coordinating with project, engineering and site teams to ensure timely material delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Source, evaluate and negotiate with suppliers to obtain the best pricing, quality and delivery terms.
• Obtain and compare supplier quotations for materials and services.
• Prepare and process Purchase Requisition (PR), Purchase Order (PO), Letter of Award (LOA) and other procurement-related documents.
• Identify, evaluate and onboard new suppliers to ensure competitive pricing and reliable supply.
• Monitor purchase orders, delivery schedules and follow up on outstanding orders.
• Coordinate closely with project, engineering and site teams to ensure timely procurement and material delivery.
• Manage and follow up on supplier progress claims, invoices and supporting documents.
• Monitor inventory levels and maintain accurate stock records.
• Coordinate stock replenishment and ensure sufficient material availability for project requirements.
• Liaise with suppliers, subcontractors and internal departments to resolve procurement-related issues.
• Maintain supplier records, contracts and procurement documentation.
• Perform any other duties assigned by Management.

About you

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Purchasing, Supply Chain, Business Administration or a related field
• Minimum 2 years of working experience in Procurement or Purchasing, especially within project-based or construction-related environments
• Strong negotiation, communication and interpersonal skills
• Well-organized, proactive and able to manage multiple tasks effectively
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook)
• Knowledge of SQL Accounting System is an added advantage
• Able to work independently and meet deadlines
• Proficiency in English, Bahasa Malaysia, and Mandarin to effectively communicate with Mandarin-speaking clients
