Title: Procurement Prototyping Specialist

Duration: Approximately 6 months

Responsibilities

• Source prototype parts and components from external manufacturing suppliers, including obtaining quotes and communicating engineering drawings, specifications, tolerances, and manufacturing requirements.
• Partner with fabrication, CNC machining, additive manufacturing, engineering, and prototyping teams to support supplier onboarding, purchasing, negotiations, and part delivery.
• Review supplier feedback and communicate design-for-manufacturing recommendations to engineers to improve cost, manufacturability, lead times, and delivery.
• Track supplier performance, purchase requests, delivery schedules, payment issues, and risks affecting prototype timelines; provide updates to stakeholders.
• Support vendor and system audits, resolve cross-functional procurement issues, and identify process improvements across purchasing, quoting, and supplier management.

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience in procurement, purchasing, prototype sourcing, supplier management, manufacturing operations, or a related field.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical manufacturing documentation; familiarity with GD&T is beneficial.
• Experience working directly with vendors to purchase externally manufactured parts, components, or services.
• Strong organizational, communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple supplier activities in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency with productivity and business applications such as Google Sheets, Google Docs, and Google Slides; experience with JIRA, Confluence, Smartsheet, SAP, or Ariba is preferred.
