Procurement/ Sourcing Engineer (M&E)

Job Responsibilities

• Manage sourcing and procurement activities for electrical Transmission & Distribution (T&D) projects in Malaysia
• Identify, evaluate and develop suitable local suppliers, subcontractors and service providers
• Handle RFQs, quotation comparison, commercial evaluation, negotiation, purchase coordination and delivery follow-up
• Source electrical equipment and materials across T&D applications, including transmission systems such as 132kV and above and distribution systems such as 33kV and below, with stronger focus on distribution-related requirements
• Review technical specifications, drawings and BOQ to understand project and procurement requirements
• Support tender preparation, cost estimation, project budgeting and commercial evaluation
• Monitor procurement costs and identify cost-saving or value-improvement opportunities
• Work closely with project, engineering, tender and other relevant stakeholders
• Support the development of the supplier network for the Company’s Malaysia operations/ JV

Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical & Electronic Engineering, or a related discipline
• Min. 3 years of relevant sourcing or procurement experience in the electrical T&D/ power industry
• Good understanding of electrical T&D equipment and materials, with hands-on experience preferably in 33kV and below distribution systems
• Good knowledge of the Malaysia supplier and vendor market
• Able to independently source, assess and develop new suppliers
• Strong commercial awareness, cost-control mindset and negotiation skill
• Willing to travel between Singapore & Malaysia frequently
