Procurement Sourcing Specialist

About the role

The major responsibilities of a Procurement Sourcing Specialist are the collection, organization, management, and analysis of vast amount of data needed to support, develop, and execute procurement strategies for Nidec Motor Corporation and its business units. The areas of involvement include but not limited to Procurement Operations such as Surcharge and Cost Reduction data analysis, Supplier Communication, and support of Supplier Management activities.  He/she is involved with Sourcing and New Product Development, where savings are generated and Supplier Selection are crucial to ensure cost-effectivity of Nidec Products. He/she also identifies business process improvements within the Commodity and Supply Chain organization of Nidec Motor Corporation.

What you'll be doing

1. Provide division and commodity expertise

• Support sourcing activities and cost reduction projects through collection and analysis of data, effective supplier outreach, and project savings implementation.
• Support assigned commodities through procurement operations such as processing Engineering Change Orders (ECO), Request for Quotes (RFQ), Purchased Part Approval Process (PPAP), Surplus Material Disposition Forms (SMDF), Capital Assets Disposal (CAD-1), Supply Agreements, Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDA), surcharge invoice processing, tooling data upkeep,  and cost reduction projects implementation through effective coordination and communication with suppliers

1. Coordinates with the New Product Development (NPD) Team on RFQ requests in ensuring proper component pricing and leadtime setup in the Material Requirement Planning system, which includes budgetary quotes and firm quotes.
2. Generate reports, which may include, but not limited to, Supplier Key Performance Indicators, Spend and variance analysis, DPO, Commodity Reviews, Audit requirements for Commodity Managers, Directors and other requesting contacts of Nidec

What we're looking for

1. Graduate Bachelor's Degree Graduate, preferably Engineering or Supply Chain degree or related discipline
2. Basic knowledge of Supply Chain and Procurement, with at least 2 years experience in a related field
3. Proficient in MS Excel, Power BI, Power query and other programming skills preferred.
4. Good communication skills
5. Amenable to work on graveyard shift
