Procurement Specialist

About the role

You will work alongside Pareto's experienced practitioners to support the delivery of procurement and commercial engagements for clients across a range of industries. This is a hands-on analytical and client-delivery role. You will turn complex procurement, supplier, supply chain, contract and commercial information into clear insights that support better decisions and measurable outcomes. You will also contribute to client proposals, presentations and defined project workstreams and projects with support from senior Pareto Toolbox resources. As your capability develops, you will have the opportunity to take greater ownership of client workstreams and build broader procurement, commercial and consulting experience.

Key responsibilities

• Collect, cleanse and analyse procurement, spend, contract, supplier, pricing and market data.
• Undertake spend, category, supplier and commercial analysis to identify opportunities for improvement, savings and value creation.
• Support the development of commercial models, opportunity assessments, sourcing strategies and recommendations.
• Use tools such as Excel, Power BI and other data visualisation platforms to analyse information and communicate insights clearly.
• Translate analysis into clear, practical insights for clients and the Pareto team.
• Support procurement and commercial projects from initial analysis through to implementation.
• Prepare high-quality client presentations, reports, proposals and other deliverables using PowerPoint, Excel and Word.
• Support supplier reviews, supplier performance analysis, sourcing and market exercises, commercial negotiations and category initiatives.
• Participate in client meetings and workshops, capturing requirements, actions, decisions and outcomes.
• Manage defined project activities and workstreams with appropriate support from senior team members.

About you

• At least 2 years of relevant professional experience in procurement, supply chain, commercial analysis, business analysis, planning or a closely related role.
• Demonstrated experience analysing data and translating it into meaningful commercial or business insights.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills and confidence working with complex datasets.
• Strong Microsoft PowerPoint skills and ability to produce clear, professional presentations and reports.
• Strong experience in leveraging AI (notably LLMs) to support and accelerate your own and client productivity.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accurate, high-quality work.
• Demonstrated problem-solving ability, initiative and a solutions-focused approach.
• Ability to manage competing priorities, learn quickly and work effectively in a client-focused environment.
• Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders of varying levels and be a great team player.
