Procurement Specialist

Role & responsibilities

• Review and validate Purchase Requisitions (PRs) received from internal departments.
• Coordinate with business partners to clarify requirements and obtain necessary approvals for PR-to-PO conversion.
• Create and process Purchase Orders (POs) accurately and within defined timelines using ERP/procurement systems.
• Proactively follow up with business partners and approvers to prevent delays in the procurement cycle.
• Coordinate with suppliers to obtain quotations, confirm pricing, delivery timelines, and order status.
• Maintain accurate records of PRs, POs, quotations, approvals, and vendor documentation.
• Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, approval workflows, and internal controls.
• Monitor open PRs and POs and follow up on pending actions.
• Identify delays or issues and escalate them to the appropriate stakeholders.
• Support cost optimization and vendor performance management activities.
• Ensure timely closure of procurement transactions and maintain accurate procurement records.

Preferred candidate profile

• Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Commerce, Procurement, or a related field.
• 2+ years of experience in sourcing, purchasing, procurement, or supply chain operations.
• Strong working knowledge of Purchase Requisition (PR) and Purchase Order (PO) processes.
• Experience with ERP/procurement systems such as SAP, Oracle, Ariba, Coupa, or similar platforms.
• Good communication and follow-up skills for coordinating with internal business partners, approvers, and suppliers.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced procurement environment.
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
