Procurement Specialist

About the role

The Procurement Specialist is responsible for overseeing and managing the company's procurement activities to ensure the timely, cost-effective, and efficient acquisition of goods, materials, equipment, and services. The role involves sourcing qualified suppliers, negotiating contracts and pricing, maintaining supplier relationships, monitoring inventory levels, and ensuring compliance with company procurement policies and procedures. The Procurement Specialist works closely with internal departments and external vendors to support the organization's operational and business objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the day-to-day procurement and purchasing activities of the company.
• Source, evaluate, and accredit suppliers based on quality, price, reliability, and delivery performance.
• Obtain quotations, compare supplier proposals, and negotiate pricing, payment terms, and contracts.
• Prepare and process purchase requests and purchase orders in a timely manner.
• Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with departments to ensure adequate stock availability.
• Track and follow up on purchase orders to ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
• Maintain accurate procurement records, including supplier information, purchase orders, invoices, delivery receipts, and contracts.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and resolve procurement-related issues promptly.
• Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies, procedures, and ethical standards.
• Monitor market trends and identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

• Candidate must possess a college degree in Business Management, Industrial Engineering or related field

• With at least 1 year experience in procurement or relevant experienced gained from an IT industry

• Knowledgeable in IT products, services and pricing

• Knowledgeable in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PDF, etc.) and google sheets

• With strong leadership and good negotiation skills

• Adaptable, hardworking, and committed to work

• Able to clearly communicate verbally and in writing

• Capable of multitasking well under pressure

• Presentable with excellent people skills

• Goal-oriented and proactive; dependable and trustworthy
